Robert Bryan Harwell

Robert Bryan Harwell (born 1959) is a United States federal judge.

Born in Florence, South Carolina, Harwell received a B.A. from Clemson University in 1980 and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1982. He was a South Carolina Army National Guard from 1987 to 1992. He was a law clerk, Hon. G. Rodney Peeples, State of South Carolina Judicial Department in 1983. He was a Law clerk, Hon. Ross Anderson, Jr., U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina from 1983 to 1984. He was in private practice in Florence, South Carolina from 1984 to 2004.

Harwell was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. Harwell was nominated by President George W. Bush on January 20, 2004, to a seat vacated by C. Weston Houck. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 24, 2004, and received his commission on June 30, 2004.
